Drains

This is the final verdict on the drain situation.

  • We had 6 drains with issues.
  • Two we were able to fix (snake)
  • The two in the front are connected and when filled with water from one side the water flows out the other. These drains need to be re-fed and need new dry wells.
  • The two drains on the driveway side are also shot.  They will need new drains and a drywell.
  • On the driveway side we found that the laundry is also draining into the ground.  This is no longer allowable by code.  We will have the plumber find a way to get the laundry waste into an appropriate drain.
  • We are currently trying to find an attractive solution to the boots where the downspouts go into the ground.
The cost for new drains and the necessary drywells needed is $1,062.50 each.  Extra cost will be any necessary landscaping, reseeding, drain boots paving etc.
