Meeting Notes 9/4/13


  •  Shutters - all hardware attached to the house will be stripped and painted black. The hardware that remains on the shutters will be painted the color of the shutters.   Repairs to  the shutters will be predominantly on the first floor shutters. The second floor shutters will have minimum repairs as far as cosmetic goes. Any shutters that are determined to be to far gone will be replaced with new units.
  • Radiators -  We will look at having our painters paint the radiators instead of the restorers.
  • Guest Bath - 
    • Source shower head with built in speaker.
    •  Look @ venting in shower. can be recessed light with integrated vent.
    • All walls with demoed and replaced with icynene insulation and plywood behind rock and plaster to replicate the solid feeling of the existing walls.
    • We are currently pricing out radiant heat for the main source of heat in the bath. We will weigh these costs in comparison to replacing the radiator.
    • Look at turning the toilet 90 degrees and have both doors open. One to hall and one to bath.
    • Reduce shower to 60" from 71"
    • Add cubbies to both sides of plumbing controls.
  •  Masonry 
    • We have decided that we will continue on with the original plan and not pull up any of the patio. We will continue grouting the mortar joints with an appropriate mix of hydrolic cement latex and silicone caulk then sealing.   The wrought iron railing will be treated where it is corroding and then painted.
    •  The stairs to the patio will have the ivy pulled back in a sensitive manner so that it car be put back in place. While off the stairs will be repointed as necessary.
    • Stairs and walkway to the far side of the house will be repaired and replaced with appropriate drainage and retaining.
  •  Garden Room - We will demo all existing finishes in the interior of the
    • garden room including woodwork benches all sheetrock and electrical boxes from old woodshop.
    • We are pricing out mew windows and doors based on conversations. These include 3 new windows with arched tops and tilting hardware constructed of mahogany. on the 2 ends of the space we will design 2 door/windows that will open out. Also of mahogany.
